Artwork & Commissions

I commission watercolor paintings that capture meaning, memory and emotion, from beloved pets and symbolic birds to floral pieces inspired by special moments.
Come paint, unwind, and enjoy the process.

Classes and Experiences

My watercolor classes are calm, welcoming and designed for all experience levels. Whether you’re joining a group class, hosting a watercolor party or trying out a coffee shop session, the focus is on creativity, relaxation and enjoyment.
Stories rooted in folklore, mystery and heart.

Books and Writing

I’m the author of two cozy supernatural murder mystery novels, with a third currently in progress. My stories are inspired by real places, folklore and a love of mystery, and my books are available for purchase online.
Sharing a creative life, one medium at a time.

Maria Farina

My artistic journey has taken many forms over the years, from drawing and creative writing to music, teaching and watercolor painting. I was selected as a child to study art through a special program at the Carnegie Museum of Art, which laid the foundation for my lifelong love of visual expression. Later, I spent 20 years as a radio disc jockey in Cleveland, then returned home to Pittsburgh, where creativity once again became the center of my life.
Today, I’m a watercolor artist, author of two cozy supernatural murder mystery novels (with a third in progress), and an active musician playing clarinet in a community concert band and piano for my own pleasure. While each creative outlet feeds a different part of me, watercolor has become a deeply peaceful and meditative practice, one that I love sharing with others.
My approach to both art and teaching is rooted in curiosity, encouragement and joy. I believe creativity should feel welcoming, not intimidating, and that art has the power to slow us down in a very busy world.
